My sisters and I want to thank everyone who came out to support the Haiti Fundraiser. It was overwhelming successful. We appreciate your generosity and patients. The total gross proceeds of that day will be donated to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to me!! I had a great birthday at the restaurant. My birthday cake was our pizza sized chocolate fudge cake. Yummy! Sweet dreams to night.
In October 2009, my sisters texted me about a contest to see which one of us can loose 20 pounds and keep it off till the end of the year. The three of us had to pitch in $50, weigh in December 31, 2009, loose 20 pounds, and winner takes the money. Well...New Years Eve came and none of us lost the 20 pounds or won the money.
Despite the outcome of the contest, I decided to join a local gym and to focus on becoming heart healthy, reduce stress, and improve quality of life. Plus, I have got to work on changing my bad eating habits.
Luckily, I have a restaurant. I have been enjoying our fish tacos. They are really good. I like putting our salsa and cheese on it. Ya, I know...cheese, not so heart healthy.
I also have been enjoying our Tortilla soup. The melted cheesy goodness (again with the cheese) with the crispy tortilla strips. Yummy!
I also love our Caesar salad with grilled chicken breast. It is so good. They only bad thing about it, I keep ordering it with the fried chicken breast - which is really good, too.
Let me know which one is your favorite. Enjoy and have a Healthy New Year. See you there.
My other two sisters like to Facebook and Twitter, I think blogging maybe a little more my speed. I was inspired by the movie, Julie and Julia to blog about anything and nothing at all. It is like talking to my children, I am saying something, but are they really listening?
I am not a twitterer and haven't figured out the whole Facebook thing, so I am going to be a blogger or is it blogster? If anyone is out there listening, let me know.
When the restaurant opened up, my kitchen at home closed down. It is far more easy eating at Tres Hermanas. I don't have to cook or mess up my kitchen.
During the Christmas holiday, I decided to cook Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon - like I said, I was inspired by Julie and Julia. It took me 2 hours just to prepare the dish. I don't think Julia or even Julie had to deal with kids fussing about the batteries dying in the WII remotes, my mother calling looking for stuff I don't have, and the smoke alarm going off - hadn't used my stove burners in a while.
The Beef Bourguignon tasted wonderful, but it sure took a long time to make Beef Stew.
I think eating a Tres Hermanas is easier - See you there.
